Windows XP is Back ? Windows XP 2018 Edition Concept

Windows XP is back. And this is the Windows XP 2018 Edition concept by Concept by Kamer Kaan Avdan. Mixes the old and the new

Microsoft, the global leader of software technology has come so far in context with developments. From Windows XP to Windows 10, the company has facilitated the introduction of many fascinating features that have changed the technological market in many ways. Though, it’s been 17 years since the operating system, Windows XP was launched, it still holds immense importance. The company ceased the support system towards XP back in 2014; the operating software is in use by thousands of operators or users even now. As per the latest NEW MARKET SHARE reports. Windows XP holds a significant share of 6.13 percent that signifies it is being used in many businesses and industries till now. Though the outdated aspects of Windows XP don’t match up with the versatile features of that of windows 10. But what if Windows XP is revived? What brings Windows XP in highlights is an imagination. How would Windows XP look if it is redesigned as per the standards and expectations for 2018? Well, one such imagination of tech youtuber, Kamer Kaan Avdan, has lightened up the glimpse in our eyes, of how Windows XP should look in 2018.

As surprising as it may seem. People are still using Windows XP all over the world. Microsoft terminated support for this version of the OS back in 2014. But it seems that this did not stop users from keeping it as their favorite OS. Windows XP is currently bragging with a significant 6.13% share of the market. And even businesses are still using it.

People do not only still use the OS. But some enthusiasts are even thinking of ways that it could be improved. Kamer Kaan Avdan is a YouTube who has previously created concept videos for more OSs that include Windows 11 now shows the whole world his vision of a brand new Windows XP 2018 Edition.

Windows XP 2018 flaunts a Fluent Design makeover.

The OS is filled with transparency effects and curved corners. But it’s still keeping the original color scheme. As you can see in the video concept. The start menu mixes Windows XP’s design with the one of Windows 10. There’s also Timeline included in the revamped Windows XP version as well.

When Microsoft announced that they were ending their support for Windows XP which they had done for 12 years. Not everybody understood what that would mean if they continued using the operating system. However, they had to withdraw so as to focus on supporting more recent technologies to continue delivering great experiences. And this included automatic updates that would help protect your PC. It also stopped providing Microsoft Security Essentials for download on Windows XP. Which meant that PCs running XP won’t be secure and would be at risk for infection. However, computers using XP still continued to work despite the increased vulnerability to security threats and viruses. Internet Explorer 8 is also no longer supported, which exposes your PC to more threats, plus more apps and devices don’t work with this OS.

If you’re still using XP. You’d know that major software providers are also dropping support for it. But there are still some best software for Windows XP to use in 2018 that you can carry on with to both stay safe and keep your PC running smoothly. I cannot review every possible piece of software. But there are so many software. You can searching for some major software which still work for XP even today.

In the video. You can also see some clips showing Windows XP’s original design and this way you can better compare the two versions of the OS. The revamped version has Microsoft Edge, Cortana, transparency effects, Timeline as we already said, and a redesigned File Explorer. You can even see Rover, the search pooch in Windows XP. We see an operating system with the clean look and “fluent design” choices of Microsoft’s more modern operating systems like Window 10, but with color palettes and layouts more akin to Windows XP. It even comes complete with the original backdrops and login screens and brings back the Microsoft “Rover” pixellated dog character to preside over search results.

The concept of the 2018 version of Windows XP lays down many alternations, making way for betterments, at the same time, maintaining the essence and originality of the original Windows XP version of Microsoft. Though, the refined version maintains its original color, but many alternations driving in, have eliminated monotonous and outdated features. The rectangular corners have been replaced by fine curve-shaped corners. Windows 10, being the most recently launched version of the operating software, has influenced the redrafted version to a great extent. The login screen, the power menu and the task bar have been refurnished and inspired from the features of Windows 10. The most attractive element of the proposed version proves out to the start menu which has the touch of the original version combined with additional yet modern tiles. The timeline also seems to be influenced by the features of the original version yet modified. In addition, with these significant changes, some appreciable alterations have also been observed in the redesigned mail app, the file explorer and many other minor yet commendable changes. The science and tech youtuber presented the video as a comparison between the original version and the redrafted version. The video has been created in a very sophisticated manner that is being appreciated by both the critics and spectators. There was one cartoon assistant also, who originally debuted in the Microsoft Bob. Apart from the technical modifications, the background music, the editing and the simultaneous comparisons, altogether add up to the perfection of the imagined version of this operating system. However, the video has gathered enough popularity but the fact is it’s just an imagined version by an individual. No matter how perfectly it has been drafted, it’s just an idea and not an execution. Let’s see whether this amazing approach could transform into a commendable version of Windows.

Fans of “Windows XP 2018 edition” have been highlighting their favorite elements. OnMSFT particularly likes the reimagined Start menu, which includes live tiles, but in a much more simplified, XP-style. We liked how it blends the transparent user interface elements of Windows 10 with the color palette of the original XP. The whole video has gone down so well that many commenters have raised the question of whether Microsoft could release a new theme for Windows 10 which would allow such an art style and layout type to be used with Windows 10. This isn’t the first concept of a potential alternative modern Windows that Avdan has put together. Just a few months ago, Avdan released a video of a conceptual “Windows 11” which looks even cleaner than the retro-future XP idea does. It too borrows elements from Windows 10, but streamlines the user-interface and introduces visual elements to enhance features like weather reports that can cross between interfaces and windows.

Bringing back the golden days of XP in a modern manner.

I have to admit that especially after seeing this video we totally agree that Windows XP OS can make us nostalgic even in 2018. And for this reason, innovative minds such as the one of Kamer Kaan Avdan are doing a great job to make sure that XP stays in our memory. Anyway, with this cool concept, the YouTuber brings back Windows XP’s golden days in a modern design. The good old elements of the OS have been revamped and mixed with the latest design elements that are implemented in the recent Windows versions these days.

Although I can’t promise that you’ll find one that will make your Windows 10 PC look and feel like Windows XP or the mythical Windows 11, Microsoft does have some themes available in its store — some free, some requiring payment. For more on Windows themes and how to install them on your Windows 10 machine.
