Introduction
The Transformers franchise has been entertaining us with its amazing action scenes, stunning CGI and epic robot fights for more than 10 years. The latest movie, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, takes us to the '90s, where we meet a new team of Transformers - the Maximals - who team up with the Autobots to save Earth from the wicked Terrorcons and their boss, Scourge.
The movie has a great cast of actors and voice actors such as Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, and Michelle Yeoh.
In this review, I will tell you why this 2023 American science fiction action film is a fun and exciting movie that gives us what we want from a Transformers movie, but also has some problems with its story, characters and dialogue.
A brief summary of the plot
The movie starts with a scene that shows us the planet of the Maximals, a kind of Cybertronians who can turn into animals. Their planet is in danger from Unicron, a dark god who eats planets. The Maximals escape in a spaceship, but they are chased by the Terrorcons, a group of bad Cybertronians who can turn into scary creatures. The Terrorcons are led by Scourge, a mean and strong warrior who wants to get the Transwarp Key, a thing that can make a portal to Unicron and let him destroy everything.
And then moves to the '90s, where we meet Noah Diaz, a young guy who fixes and makes things and lives in Brooklyn with his sister Breanna and her son Kris. Noah is having a hard time with money and with following his dreams of becoming an engineer. He works at a museum, where he meets Elena Wallace, a person who studies old cultures and things. Elena is looking for clues about where the Inca people came from in Peru, where she thinks there is a hidden place that has secrets about the Transformers.
At the same time, Optimus Prime, the boss of the Autobots, comes to Earth with Bumblebee and Mirage, two of his friends. They are looking for the Maximals, who have landed on Earth and have gone into hiding. Optimus Prime feels that something is wrong and that a big danger is coming. He talks to Noah and Elena, who have found out that some of the things they have found are actually parts of the Transwarp Key. Optimus Prime tells them that they are part of an old story that says that Unicron will come, and the beasts will rise.
Noah and Elena work together with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Mirage and the Maximals, who include Airazor, Rhinox, Cheetor and Primal. They must stop Scourge and the Terrorcons from finding the Transwarp Key and making the portal to Unicron. On the way, they face many problems and dangers such as Predacon scorpions, army people and liars. They also learn more about the past and secrets of the Transformers and how they are linked to Earth. The movie ends with a big fight between the Autobots, Maximals, Terrorcons and Unicron in Peru, where Earth and the universe could be saved or destroyed.
Analysis
The acting is one of the things that I want to talk about in this Movie Review. The movie has actors and voice actors and I think they did a good job of making their characters real and interesting. For example, Anthony Ramos plays Noah Diaz, the main guy in this United States Movie, who is a clever and creative guy who fixes and makes things. Ramos makes Noah a nice and easy to like character, who has hopes and problems that we can understand. He also works well with Dominique Fishback, who plays Elena Wallace, the main girl in the movie, who is a person who studies old things and cultures. Fishback who is interested and excited about her work makes Elena a smart and strong character. She also makes Elena change as a character as she learns to believe and cooperate with the Transformers.
Another example of good acting is Ron Perlman, who voices Optimus Primal, the boss of the Maximals. Perlman makes Optimus Primal have a deep and powerful voice, that shows his leadership and knowledge. And he also makes Optimus Primal brave and kind as he guides his team and defends Earth from Unicron. Perlman who is voices Optimus Prime also works well with Peter Cullen who is the boss of the Autobots. Cullen plays Optimus Prime again and he says his lines with his famous charm and seriousness. He also makes Optimus Prime show his respect and friendship with Optimus Primal, as they work together to stop Scourge and Unicron.
The acting in this war movie helps to make the characters fun and unforgettable, that have different personalities and goals. The actors also help to show the feelings and ideas of the movie such as bravery, loyalty, friendship and fate. This Sci-Fi & Fantasy movie is one of the good things about it and it makes the movie that has more fun and important.
Analyze the Direction
The direction is another thing that I want to talk about in this United States movie. It is directed by Steven Caple Jr., who did Creed II (2018) before. He does a good job of directing the movie as he mixes the action, humor and drama of the story. And also uses the '90s setting well, as he adds things from the culture and music of that time. Shows respect to the original Transformers and Beast Wars cartoons as he puts things that fans will like.
Caple Jr. also does a good job of directing the action scenes, as he makes them cool and clear. Uses different ways of filming to make us feel the size and speed of the Transformers, as well as to show how they can change and do different things. And uses slow motion and close-ups to make us see the power and excitement of the fights. He also uses real effects and stunts, as well as CGI to make things look real and amazing.
The direction in this Science Fiction movie helps to make a fun and entertaining that shows what the Transformers franchise is about. He shows his talent and idea as a director, as he makes a movie that both old and new fans of the Transformers will like. The direction in the movie is another one of the good things about it and it makes the movie more fun and good.
Conclusion
This Beast Wars Storyline Film is a fun and entertaining movie that gives us what we want from a Transformers movie. This Rise of the Beasts has good acting, especially from the actors and voice actors, who make their characters fun and interesting. And also has good direction, especially in the action scenes, which are cool and clear. This United States of America movie also uses the '90s setting well and shows respect to the original Transformers and Beast Wars cartoons. But the movie also has some problems with its story, which is not very original or surprising. It has some problems with its characters, who are sometimes not very deep or real.
I think this Sci-Fi & War movie could make people who like the Transformers franchise will like it, but it is not a movie that people who don't like it or don't know it will like. It is a fun and exciting movie, but it is not a smart or meaningful movie.
